See where the compressed air comes out.
You will hear it...
tailpipe...bad exhaust valve.
throttle body/carb...bad intake valve
take off oil cap...if you hear it through there it's blowby...but unlikely since you left oil in the cylinder for 8 hours.

Worst case....open the radiator cap or expansion tank...bubbles there indicate cracked cylinder or head or head gasket failure...

This is also the key ingredient to a leak-down test. put pressure to the cylinders, and see how long it holds.
