Go to the link below and ask them for a METRA TURBOKIT which has all the stuff you need, it has the faceplates for the 240 upper and lower DIN and Shaft installs as well as a 740 kit all in one bag. Also ask for the METRA Harness so you can put the Volvo connector on your new radio and keep everything factory.
It should be less than $25 for the works.
The original harness should be sanked aout of the lower radio box via the left rear side, there is a large hole just for this purpose, and passed up the left side of the console to the upper radio box. Pop off the upper gauge plate and remove the 2 screws, and the stash box slides out. Open the glove box and remov all the screws tat hold it in place and slide it out. This gives ypou working room to see whats going on.
You will need an Exacto knife or small hacksaw blade to cut the shaft adapters out of the faceplate adapter and then slide the mounting sleeve in and secure it by folding the tabs back against the faceplate. If you do it right no rear support is needed. Solder ytheadapter harness and connector to the radio head unit wiring and then pull the antenna and radio wires out of the opening, thread them thr the new faceplate and then seat te faceplate, restore the 2 screws by the guage hole, and then use a 3 inch sheetrock screw to secure the right side of the faceplate by driving it from the upper left corner of the glovebox opening thru the dash pad into the right side of the faceplate , there is a notch that is supposed to click onto the frame but frequentlky does no as over time the radio hole deforms. The screw will stop the right side from popping out and make the radio real secure. Don't worry the glovebox door hides the screw head. Use a Power screw gun.
Plug the antenna and radio connector in and slide the radio in place, then go to the glovebox hole and thread the wire sAWAY FROM THE WIPER MECHANISM!!! They will get caught in it if you don't.
For mrmory power use fuse #1 or what ever the clock is connected to, for illumination use the dash lights in the console and for ground attach to the upper left corner of the console frame where all the other ground wires are.
Email me if you need the wiring diagram/plot.
Did one of these on Saturday last and it took me 20 minutes.
