The BIG question is: Is your coolant level dropping?
There are several different things that can happen with a head gasket leak.
1. Coolant can be lost to the oil, result is water contamanated oil.
2. Oil can get in the cooling system.
3. Combustion pressure can get dumped into the cooling system and push coolant out of the overflow.
IF it is the gasket, then #3 is likely the situation in your case. Most any make gasket on the market is a good one, cheaper is better. When you gotta fork out $80 for a gasket, I'll shop around. The key is squeeky clean surfaces and no fingers on the new gasket, use brake cleaner on the head and deck prior to installation. All (that I've used) gaskets for heads these days have great goo already applied to the piece. Handle by the edges to place it. This gets deeper, but, I'll stop here...
