There is an adjustment for this and I'll try to describe this on line:
First, the clips at the front of the headliner must be popped loose. When this is done, slide the headliner back into the cavity. If you then SLIGHTLY open the sunroof, you'll see a pivot point where a screw is. DO NOT OPEN SUNROOF ALL THE WAY. IF YOU DO, YOU'LL FORCE IT INTO THE TOP OF THE CAR AND SCRATCH IT!!.
The screw you are looking for will be at a right angle to the sunroof. Slightly (and I do mean slightly) loosen this and press the sunroof up (as if it were closed properly) and re-tighten screw.
This screw holds a toothed piece that will engage at the correct height when you retighted it.
