any good advice out there on plugging a small leak in my '740's header? it's a small leak (1/2-1") where the header meets the front pipe. i read earlier this week about fire seal 2000? or would high temperature aluminum seal from ipd do the job? --

I'm also interested in high temperature sealing agents. Where did you see the information on Fire Seal?. I need something to patch a crack in my turbocharger.

As far as headers go, I'd recommend taking it to a welding shop and having it TIG or MIG welded. I believe that the header on your model is stainless steel. Even if the crack is up in a header joint, a good welder can crank up the purge gas flow and do a little weld buildup.

While I haven't done this to the leaking header on my wife's late model 240, I have had friends with stainless exhaust headers who have had them successfully rewelded for less than $30.
