The problem with your front bar was likely that you had the car up on stands so that the front suspension was unloaded. This will put stress on the sway bar links. When the suspension is loaded, this stress will be pretty minimal.
One of the things to check is the conditon of the link ends where they fasten to the control arm - if they are not worn now, they probably will be shortly with the new heavy bar and you will need to replace them. Also check the bushings where the radius rod fastens to the control arm - there are two cone shaped ones - one in front and one behind the control arm. These are the first bushings to wear out on the 700 series. Also, when replacing, be sure that you get all of the rusted metal portion of the bushing out of the control arm - you may have to chip the metal pieces out with a cold chisel, then clean the holes with a small wire cup wheel or die grinder.
When you do the rear bar, be sure to leave the bolts for the lower shock mounts loose until the car is on the ground with the suspension loaded and settled. then tighten them up - this goes for any suspension bolts that hold bushed joints together. Otherwise, you will preload the bushings and it results in poor handling and premature bushing failure!
