Installing sunroofs on 240's[850/1995] posted by Nathan Rivers on

I have an 82 242 Dl. I love the car but I wish it had a sunroof. Could anybody give me an Idea about how difficult it is to install a volvo sunroof on one without it. If its a really bad job, or really expensive I would not do it.
Thanks,

Nathan,
I've never installed a sun roof on my 240 volvo, but, I do know one of the former shop guys that I go to have my volvo service did. He installed the
sunroof (not glass but, metal steel volvo type) onto his 82' 245 wagon. He
told me that it was a real long and hard job because he had to cut an opening
on the top of his wagon's roof. Then he had to locate a volvo sunroof from another volvo along with all the parts that was require to make the sunroof
work. He also had to repaint the sunroof to match the car's paint color. wiring
switch relay seals and all the other stuff!
I think it's much more easy to get a pop open glass sunroof put in than put in a
solid steel sunroof from another volvo.
Good luck!
