Alright, here's a simple question for those initiated into the process of
seat removal:
I need to remove the seat in my '91 745 in order to install a new crash
sensor. I'm a bit confused as to which bolts remove the seat and my haynes
manual doesn't help. Is it the bolts that are screwed DOWN into the floor,
or the ones that screw SIDEWAYS toward the middle of the seat? The ones
that bolt down into the floor have a rubber stop to keep them from moving,
if I need to remove these do you have a suggestion for removing the stop?
It also seems as though I need to remove the seatbelt assembly.
All suggestions greatly appreciated.

I just had to remove the seats in my 85' 240 sedan. I was lost untill I found my old Chilton book. It will cost you like around $15, and u'll use it alot.

Good luck,
Andrew

I do have the manual (don't know off hand whether it's chilton or haynes)and i STILL CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. I just need to know whether it's the bolts that are screwed DOWN into the floor, or the ones that screw SIDEWAYS toward the middle of the seat? The ones that bolt down into the floor have a rubber stop to keep them from moving, if I need to remove these do you have a suggestion for removing the stop? It also seems as though I need to remove the seatbelt assembly. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Stop me before I post again!

NO, Not again...
Seat removal should be pretty strait (jacket) forward. My '86 has plastic trim covering the ends. Remove that and the nuts holding the seat to the floor should be accessable. By all means remove the ones holding the seat to the floor. Anything else might go SPROOOOIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG. Major Pain.
I don't have the plastic bumpers you mentioned. ED7
