93 850 bulb failure light[850/1995] posted by Mark H on

Bulb failure light comes on for no reason.I removed front bulb sensor and rear sensor at the same time and the bulb failure light still comes on.It will go out if you slap the dash (above the light).I am thinking possible circuit board behind dash.
I am real close to cutting the ground wire to dash bulb!

Hi,

i have experienced this in the past, and its normally one of several things i find.

1. If you replace a tail light for example replace the oppersite side as well as the resistance seems to cause a problem with different vendors bulbs.

2. Every so often i clean mine getting rid of the dust that tarnashes the bulb to make them look dull and at the same time ensure that are fully fitted into their sockets.

3. The next is quite simple switch all the lights on including brake lights and indicator (direction lights for you) and look around the car to see if any have gone.

4. last thing i can suggest is the the cable into the back of the dash may be loose, and of couse the last resort it to pull it all out hopefully not.
