Tailgate Wire? (Station Wagon)[240-260/86] posted by Karl Koenig on

My car has electric locks, and recently the lock in the tailgate usually refuses to respond with the rest of the doors. Wiper and lights work OK.
Is it time to dig into the wires in the tailgate hinges?

My guess is yes. but first check the fuses, the the ground connections, also yoy may want to apply battery power (12vdc) to the appropriate terminals directly at the rear lock inside the door. you may have a bad lock soliniod. you could also do a few continuity checks while moving the tailgate open and closed. if all elese fails, dig in............good luck...mr. tool, qty. 2 1987 245dl's.....
