The tool fits into the pulley hub and and has an arm that fits on one of the bolts on the front of the block. leaves bolt free for socket to loosen or tighten.

And for all of you out there who belong to the Volvo club - you can buy the tool from George at Volvo/Toyota near Keene NH for about $35!!
