I had the clunk also and replaced the all bushings. Its an afternoon for each end. You will need a torch, a vice and a ball joint press( borrowed from auto parts store). We had a mystery clunk that turned out to be a loose nut on the strut. If you do the shocks the brich will ride like new. If you replace the struts - check the strut bearings and repack them with grease, Sears shocks have been a good value for us. They will replace them no questions asked.
