Jebreh ---
I second everything Tim said (having gone through it myself several times). A word of caution -- under the flat plate is a gear that's also is a cam for several switch contacts. Be very careful not to bend or displace these contacts. By mistake, I did that once on an '86 and found I had wipers that wouldn't stop. Then, after a minor adjustment, they only stopped when used at low speed -- the high speed had enough momentum to start the next cycle. I spent an extra 2 hours adjusting the switch contacts.
The alignment of these contacts is critical for proper operation.
