Low beams work, High beams create blackout on drivers side, Lamps fine!?[240-260/1982] posted by Tony Giverin on

When turning on my high beams, instead of all 4 lamps coming on, the passenger side works, but the drivers side doesn't, including the low beam. In other
words, the high and low beams of the passenger side work, the high and low beams of the drivers side don't. This is only when the high beams are activated.
The low beams work as usual. Also I swapped high beam lamps and determined that they both work! I re-seated the connections to no avail. Is the problem related to the relay/switch box, located on the drivers side inner fender? --

Its a corroded connection. Take apart the connector which leads to lights which dont go on. Clean up the spades and you should be ok. I dont think you have a relay problem since one set of lights works properly.
