Check for electrical problems first - you should get power to compressor clutch when switch turned on. Also check at pressure switch. Note that even with plenty of refrigerant in the system, it will not work if there is some air in the system that wasn't evacuated properly prior to filling with refrigerant. How did you determine there was sufficient refrigerant in the system? Is your car a turbo? You might want to check the full boost A/C cutout switch and wiring.
