There's a simple fix that takes ten minutes assuming they can get a tech free long enough to do it. It involves freeing up a circuit board microswitch thjat got coated with shellac during manufacture allowing to hang in. this makes radio think a CD is already in and it won't motor another one in until it thinks the path is clear.
