I am in the process of replacing my BW? AW-55 transmission on my 1980 240 DL. I purchased a Haynes auto repair manual and it refers to the type of oil to use in two different sections. In the maintenance section it calls for Dextron II and in the Transmission section it calls for Type F. I need assistance in finding out which type to use. I think the last trans went out due to wrong oil. I was using Dextron. Please reply ASAP.

I have a 1980 OEM handbook, it states ATF type F or G for the BW55 slushbox.
