The oil pressure gage pegs out for about the first 10 minutes of operation unti the car warms up. After that the gage reads about 4 bar. Anyone got any ideas as if this is a problem?

If you are referring to this occurring at engine speeds greater than 2000 RPM and you are using oil with a viscosity more than 10W-30 then it is normal. If you don't have the situation described above then i would question the oil pressure sending unit next to the oil filter that provides the siganl to the oil pressure gauge. On a engine at operating temp, oil pressure should be 4 Bar at speeds over 2000 and 1+/- .2 Bar at idle (750 RPM).
