83 240 ATF - Dexron or Type F???[ALL/1988] posted by Larry on

Does anyone know what type ATF my 83 240 takes? I am not sure the tranny model, but it has an overdrive button on the shifter for 4th gear. I drained the fluid and put in Dexron but it now feels different. Alldata is not clear on this. Should I drain the fluid again and put in Type F? Is there a drain on the torque converter? Thanks in advance.

All 1983 models use Type F unless it's a 760 turbodiesel with 4 speed automatic (ZF gearbox).
