We had a 1987 240 in the shop today for a state inspection. It passed the safety and emissions tests without additional work. The odometer showed 892,999 miles. I hope Volvo's White engines prove to be as durable as the red engines.

I wonder if the engine has ever been re-built or the transmission has been re-built??

Wow, keep those stories coming. I'd like to know about the owner. He's got
to be one compulsive son-of-a-gun who knows his car probably better than his wife.

for you statistics types: thats an average 247.23 miles per day for 10 years - is it a taxi cab?
