Growning sound on full lock for 850 after discs change[ALL/1988] posted by Mark A Sovereign on

Hi all, are you sitting comfortabley ?
I have a 1994 UK 850 RHD which has just passed it's MOT test (Miinistry of Transport yearly test). While in the shop i asked if they could check the status of the brake discs all around. The fronts were just below the minimum so i asked them to be replaced.
This was done with OEM parts as no subsistute parts are available in the UK for 850 discs.
Since then when i put on full lock on the steering and return to centre especially to the right i hear an aweful growning sound.
I have found also its worse when the front shocks area under compression, since they let the car daggle it's feet as it were on the lift points has the suspension reseated incorrectly when coming back to ground also ?
I know if you replace the timing belt that the cover on the right side could catch in not closed properly but this is not appriate in this case. Have they while replacing the discs cleaned something and forgot to relubricate hence the noise or do i have something more a miss ?
I have checked the level of the power steering level whilst cold and thats ok.
Any ideas before i have to take it to my volvo dealer?
Thanks in advance.

There are some cotact points on each lower control arm that act as stops for full lock turns. These may have been ruubed clean. They can be greased to leesen noise, but it is a temporary fix. The later models have a control arm with a plastic rub strip to address this noise. The suspension moving while at full lock just aggrevates the noise.
