'83 240DL Wagon B23F M46 Questions[ALL/1988] posted by Hal Doll on

I was wondering what sort of gas mileage to expect from my Volvo.
It is well maintained and has only 130K miles. I have just done the timing belt and front seals, as well as all other belts and hoses. It runs very well and passed its emmisions test recently with very low output...very low.

This summer I totally rebuilt the suspension with Boge ProTurbo gas shocks and struts. All front and rear bushing and ball joints were also done.

I order most of my parts from IPD in Portland. They are the best that I have found.

Also, what is the average clutch life expectancy. I believe I have the original clutch in this car still.

I have the M46 manuel transmission with electronic overdrive. Can the gearing be changed in the rearend to enhance performance..

Lets face it, these are great cars, but the little 4 bangers they put in them are for torque, not speed...but in the city you need a little more pep
How about cam or ignition control modifications?

Thanks for the input

Hal
