850 European Tun Signals[ALL/1988] posted by Tony G on

Does anyone know if there is another source besides IPD for the European side turn signals for the 850? I really like them but I can't see spending that much scratch ($80) on turn signals.
Thanks,

Arent they $98? Maybe I forgot since I installed them a while ago...My research indicated that IPD is the ONLY place you can get them...Not even the dealers can get them.....Unless they specifically agree to import them from a Volvo distributor in Europe....But I've yet to hear of one who does it. Probably one of the reasons theyre sooo expensive..Still, I'm glad I did it..

Borton Volvo has them both amber and clear versions. I bought mine last year from them, it was way cheaper than IPD. I paid about $70 for the amber lights and wiring harness.
Now Borton Volvo also sell the clear version, but the latest "net" price had gone up. For one light : Amber - $39.99, and Clear - $41.00. Wiring harness is extra and I don't have the price handy.
Their email address : parts@borton.com.

Yes!
try to order it from your local Volvo Parts Dept. Dealership.
I just ordered a set it cost me @20.00 U.S.
The volvo parts number is #9190-169. I ordered it from my Canadian Volvo
Parts Dept. These lights fit all 700 / 900 and 800 series along with the newer
volvo models for North American sales.

The wire harness is not included in the price I stated, but It's a female blade insert and a long wire with a plastic/metal wire splicer to connect with the front turn signal. I'm not sure that the price they charged me was for the pair or just one because I've not got them until pick up next week! Will let you know when I get them!

I asked my local Atlanta dealer about this part number. They do not have stock but they can order it. The price is $50 each. Then I called a Volvo dealer near Montreal (I will be there next week), they do not have stock but it is available from Toronto. They ordering it for me and they will have it in stock next monday. The price is $10US each. Quite a difference in price!

Leo,
the price you gave for the Can. cost of them lights is correct. Mind you certain Volvo dealers will sell for less! Don't forget that certain 850 model
cars are pre-wired for those lights and certain ones are not! I was given a price of @20.00 Can. $$ each at a Toronto dealership and then @$15.00 each at a
London, Ontario dealership! I made the mistake of purchasing the set from IPD. Then I e-mail Volvo Cars of North America and They gave me the parts number, then lost the part number. Went to my local Volvo parts dealership and he gave me the current number! I even asked Volvo why they didn't have them installed on all 700, 900, 800 and all current volvos sold in North America! Their answer
not sure???

I got my euro turn signals from Martin Motorsports in Falls Church, VA. (703) 534-9860. You need to make up the wiring harness. They can supply the connector and pigtails with molded connections for the end that connects to the light. You need to extend the pigtails to reach the wiring harness near the front corner markers to connect up. There were a few 850 models that came to the states with the harness plug installed, but most will not have them. Hardest part of the installation is removing the fender badges and the goo from the sticky tape that holds them on. A long piece of wire can bde used to fish the wires from the signal to the front through the inner fender.

Does Martin MotorSports has a web site ?
Thanks,
