The more I hear the more I think this deal has a bad smell- Does it make sense that someone would take their car to a mechanic and authorize repairs that they can't afford to pay for and then just walk away from the car??? Does this guy hold clear title to the car?? If you are interested in this car and it sounds like you are how about asking to speak to the previous owner and see if their stories sound like they are the least bit similiar. I personally would be walking away from this one.
