Thanks to all of you for the braking advice. Replaced the master cylinder this morning; all appears to be well.
I had to re-use my reservoir, and upon sucking out the old fluid with that most hi-tech of tools, the turkey baster (don't tell my wife!), boy, was it *yucky*!
Seems like the opinion was split 50/50 on whether to bleed the whole system. I chose not to, but looking at the condition of the old fluid in the reservoir, I probably should have. We'll see...
BTW, I really *like* the oil leaks on that B23; they kept all the nuts from rusting stuck!

Evan, considering how many children have been "fathered" by turkey basters-you have nothing to worry about!
But it could be a new flavor for the annual Volvo Open House dinner menu!

There's no accounting for tastes, Evan! When I changed my brake fluid, I used one of those nifty hand-operated vacuum pumps to suck dirty fluid out of each nipple. Worked like a charm! The pumps are available at just about all auto parts stores, and tool stores. Just be careful not to empty the reservoir on the M/C, or you will have a longer project than you planned!
