Advice on body work[ALL/1988] posted by Hari Rajagopal on

I was in a collision , (some jerk cut in in front and then slammed on the brakes when he realized that the reason I had a 2 car distance was 'cos the guy ahead was riding his brakes :(, he had no insurance and I have no comprehensive, just liability). Anyway, his jeep hit me just above the front bumper and crumpled the 'lip' just behind the bumper, the strip that the lights, grill etc sit on. The is mangled and I was wondering if it was a one piece item that could be removed and refitted with a 'lip' from another 245 wagon ?

You should be able to swap the mangled piece with a good one. I have swapped
3 240 front ends due to collisions. Volvo makes it easy, the front ends are
pretty much held together and attached to car with bolts. The piece
you want to replace might have a couple of tack welds but
they are easy to break and since the area where these welds are have bolts I
don't tack weld again.Good Luck
