Volvo Plant in Georgia?[ALL/1988] posted by Lee Lowrey on

I work for a company that specializes in industrial plant construction and expansion work (key clients include Robert Bosch, Michelin, and BMW). My company is owned by a larger construction company based in Atlanta. That company, in turn, is owned by a huge Swedish engineering and construction consortium. Within the past two months, persistent in-house rumors have been circulating about the new Volvo plant planned for Georgia...

I'll keep you Bricksters up-to-date with info as I get it, of course, but is this an exciting rumor, or what?

Everyone's saying it will be an auto assembly plant. From all of the Volvo rumors circulating in Europe (via the auto rags -- Motor Trend, Car & Driver, road & Track, etc. -- my gut feeling is it will assemble the 40-series, which is far and away the most popular Volvo in that part of the world...

If you sell your Plymouth Voyager that was made in Canada and buy a Honda Accord made in Ohio...Does that make you more or less patriotic?
