Hi: It's in the front right engine compartment. I have this rectangular electrical gizmo? 5" wide X 8" High X 2" thick that is mounted on the metal bracket that holds the plastic windshield washer resivor. Electrical harness coming out of the top. Appears to be some sort of vacumn valve on the bottom.
Volvo part # 1346107 stamped on it. What is it, and what does it do? I thought the computer module was inside the car behind the right kick panel on the passanger side. ????????? Mr. Tool ....

Your right, the computer is inside the car. That thing in the engine compartment is an electronic ignition module that controls ignition timing, spark advance and such ignition related things.

This electrical gizmo is the ignition control unit.
The FUEL control unit is installed inside the car at the right kick pannel
