850 Check Engine Light[ALL/1988] posted by Mike Wright on

I have a 94 850 Turbo that occasionally gives a false check engine warning. (I've had the car checked out and my mechanic confirms the warnings are false alarms) Does anybody have any idea what causes these false alarms and how to prevent them?
Second, does anybody know the code to manually reset this light via the diagnostic port?

What do you mean by "false fault codes"? Is there no code when the mech goes to read it out? Does he know that the Auto trans control module can cause the CEL to be lit w/o a code being stored in the Fuel system ECM? (That year model does this , but others built since do store an acknowledgement of trans faults in fuel ECM) Let us know.
