1985: had older body style with quad rectangular headlights, and flat trunk lid on sedans. Canada had the 1982 style bumpers. Original B230F engine with weaker con rods. Mechanical speedo.

1986: First year of TV headlights and 3rd brake lights. Trunk lid reshaped to be a little curved. 240 designation returns on trunk or tailgate. Electronic speedo arrives. Headrests reshaped. Bumpers made stronger in comparison to U.S 1983-85 models. Canada loses strength in the bumper upgrade.

1987: M47 replaces M46 tranny. True 5-speed, but weaker than older tranny. New front seat belts.

1988: different starter.

1989: New ignition system, rear headrests standard, new steering wheel.

1990: Air bag standard on U.S. models. DL gains power windows, sunroof.

1991: ABS optional, no more DL model. New A/C switch, shift interlock on automatic. Aluminum tailgate with flush glass. Flush windshield

1992: Blacked out trim on grille, GL model returns.

1993: Heated power mirrors on all 240's. GL replaced with Classic model. Special trim, alloy wheels. --
1981 242GL - 266K; 1984 245GL - 236K; 1985 245GLT non-turbo - 181K; all with M46 and all near Seattle
