Re: rear shocks, 760 turbo wagon[700/90] posted by Steve Seekins on

Your choices are to replace the shocks with the original Nivomat self leveling shocks which are VERY expensive, but will restore the self leveling feature of the car regardless of weight in the cargo area, OR, replace the rear springs with springs from a wagon that was not equipped with the Nivomats. I would recommend you use springs from a 740 turbo wagon as they are a little firmer than the non-turbo wagon springs. Just be sure to get springs from a WAGON. Once you swap the springs, you can use any standard aftermarket shock. You might also check with some performance shops that do some business installing lowering springs in Volvos - they might just have a few sets of standard springs in the back. If you are in the Washington, DC area, I know that Martin Motorsports has at least one set in the store rooom. --
