everytime i take off from a dead start in my '90 740GLE i get this strange feel from the trunk area like something big shifting wait and rolling to the back of the trunk. the trunk is empty so i'm assuming it's something with the rear-end. it's kinda like a brrrrrump. i can't wait 'til i hear back from the brickheads on this one. any takers? --

Pomp,
Check the stays that are right next to the differential. There are two stays, one on the top and one on the bottom. We have seen the bolts either break or back out. If the problem is the stays, the differential will flop around under load.
