Yaw Mak,
Remember that the pressure cap for the coolant vents to the air. As the cooling system heats up, pressure also build. Excess pressure gets relieved by the cap.
Mostly it is steam , some antifreeze also leaves. The percentage is less than the water. Also remember that water is better at transfering heat than coolant. the antifreeze mixture lowers the freezing point and adds lubricants, rust inhibitors... etc .. believe it or not an engine will run hotter with straight antifreeze , then with a 50/50 mixture. BTW most climates get a 50/50 mixture from Volvo , but there are several areas that do not ..EG .. Saudi Arabia . The temperatures there may never reach freezing , so the mixture maybe 70% water 30% antifreeze. Another
BTW the Volvo antifreeze is special. In the 850's an 960's with the aluminum engines it is lifetime . It doesn't need to be replaced, just topped up.!
