carburator adjust[240-260/1982] posted by tony giverin on

I recently had the carburator re-built due to a warm engine start problem I was
having. The volvo dealer convinced me that with the mileage and the fact that
the carb had not been touched in 16 yrs, a re-build will do the trick.
The car now runs great, idle is smooth, and the warm engine start problem is
gone.
But.
In the past the engine when cold, and the choke pulled out, would start
immiediatly. approximately 1 sec. Now I have a new problem. when the
engine is cold and the choke pulled out, the engine turns over longer, about
3-4 sec before firing up.
I do not want to return to the dealer as they have re-adjjusted allready at my
request.
Any advice?

I guess your carb is lean now. Before it was too rich, started easier when cold. These carbs are always a headache, if you're happy the way it runs, leave it alone. 3-4 sec cranking is easier to tolerate than always rich condition. Right?
