1985 was the last year for the 240T and they are not too common. It's probably the water cooled version and should have been fairly reliable. But...
A rebuild is not too hard if you are hand with basic mechanics. IPD makes a rebuild kit for a little over $100 assuming the turbine blades are OK. Getting the turbo and exhaust manifold out can be a little frustrating with rust and possible broken studs. One trick: to give yourself more room while removing the turbo, put a small jack under the passenger side motor mount and lift a little.
