S70 Trunck release fix[ALL/1998] posted by Stu Glass on

We had our over easy trunk release fixed today by a local dealer. It
takes about 30 seconds and works very poorly. The dealer inserts an O
ring in the hand held remote. Now the button only works about 10% of
the time.
Just goes to show that cheap is cheap... Boy am I impressed --------NOT

The NEWS from my dealer after speaking with the local rep from Volvo is that there will be a "new remote" release in about one month. This unit will fix the release problem and not require the O ring. All problem units will be replaced at the owner's request.
I will post details when the new units come in to the dealership. These guys are good at getting back to owners.
