94' 940 engine components[ALL/1998] posted by Eric Acle on

I am planning on modifying my engine to put out much more power. I need to know if my engine's components are strong enough to deal with the additional HP. For instance, are the connecting rods the same strength as the 1990 spec rods? Is the crank forged? Does the crank have the same main journal dimmensions as the older 4 cylinder engines? How strong are the pistons? I have been told that the Penta crankshaft will fit the block and extend the stroke, is this so and will I be able to use the 1990 spec rods? Also will I have to machine the block to make clearance for the longer stroke?

If you can answer even one of my questions please do.
Thank You,

Eric Acle

Penta Crank[ALL/1998] posted by Eric Acle on

I am looking for an inexpensive source for the 2.5 liter volvo penta crank to put in my b230. Please email me any places that are a good deal or if you are selling one in good condition. If you have a part number for this crank, I could also use that.
Thank You
