240DL Auto Txm Kickdown Cbl Sticking[ALL/1998] posted by Norm Lizotte on

Last winter, my son's 87 240DL started to have a stuck gas pedal in the morning on cold days. I traced it to the auto transmission kickdown cable from the throttle spindle to the transmission. After the car warmed up for two-three minutes, everything was fine. I replaced the cable with a new one. Now (end of summer, no freezing yet) it's doing the same thing.

Any suggestions? I want to lube the cable, but don't know what to lube it with, or how to lube it properly.
