Hi there,

I need help finding the correct tie inns for the side blinker lights that are available for early 850's. Have lights installed and wires are fed through into the passengers area. Where do I connect to?
Can I anticipate problems with the bulb failure mechanism?

Thanks in advance for your help

Robert

Hej Robert
You should find the wires for the blinker lights inside the front fenders.
You didnt state the year of the car,but I have installed many a side marker light,No biggie.
The side emblems come off with a little encouragement but dont use a scraper
as this would scratch the paint. If you cant fish the wires out with a hook(wire hanger)then you might have to drill out the rivots that hold the inner fender in place. You will find them secured above>

Sorry for leaving an incomplete request.
My 850 is from 1995 and does not have the wires preinstalled. I purchased the wires and connectors directly from Volvo. One side blinker has been correctly installed and the wires are fed through two rubber grommets.
According to the wiring diagram there should be "branching point" no. 23/207 between the turn signal switch and the blinkers in the front. This is where I would like to hook up mu new wire. However, I can not find this branching point. Is there a way to find out where this is located by the no.?
Where did you hook it up?

Robert

It sounds like your looking at the wiring diagram found in the Haynes manual for the 850 I have at home and just recently tried to follow. Of course you might also be looking at some Volvo literature as well. As I said before, I had to let my Volvo dealer handle it, and even they had a problem with the bulb warning light at first. Unfortunately, I dont know how they finally resolved the problem. They charged me about $115 labor, plus $22 for wires, so I would have much preferred to do it myself, but as soon as I realized that it was NOT prewired, I basically said I'd better stop here before I get into trouble. I'm thinking of getting fog lights for my '95 850 Turbo, as , again, I've been told that the car is prewired for them. I think that this time, though, it really *is* prewrired. Has anybody installed these fog lights on an 850?
