After changing the brake pads the Brake Failure light is now glowing constantly.
Something need to be reset/adjusted?
Thanks.

Hej Tom
Below the master cylinder right down on the frame rail is a proportioning valve. It warns you of a fault in the brake sysytem.
So you might have a look at that.Although you might just have to bleed the brakes. You should make sure you have the proper sequence for bleeding.
The switch that turns on the light is on that valve(junction block). It provides a ground and sometimes the plunger goes off center and yo have a light on.
D'ont yu just luv that Jaques Villeneuve?
Tube.

therer is a popportioning vaslve ( sort of ) this detects a difference in pressure between the primary and secondary systems when oyu change pads and or blleed the brakes you create that differencve, to reset, remove the wire and unscrew the aforementioned switch then re insert this should reset the valve and pin, making everyone happy again

When you changed pads and then depressed your brake pedal afterwards, there was pressure imbalance until your pedal built back to normal height as the calipers pushed the new pads against the rotors. If your warning valve (there is no proportioning function to this unit) is sludged up internally due to insufficient fluid changes, then your valve is stuck. To remedy this you need to bleed your brakes at length until the fresh fluid is coming out of all bleeder screws, then go to one of your front calipers and while someone holds pressure on the brake pedal, rapidly loosen and immediately tighten the bleeder on one side. If the light goes out (the purpose of the rapid loosen and tighten is to create a pressure imbalance that shoves the internal piston back to center where the piston doesn't touch the electrical contact) stop, if not perform the same procedure on the bleeder screw on opposite side of the same caliper (other brake circuit). This may not work if the warning valve is sludged really bad. In that case you need a new valve. USE DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID!
May the brake force be with you.
