Hey guys. I'm trying to figure out if I can change the shift knob on my 89 740 GL. It can turn, but only grudginly, doesn't seem to come off at all. Any suggestions?

thanks,
allan chen

I assume that it is an automatic. I believe that the knob is a destroy-it-to-remove-it type. I think if you can get it to turn, you already are part way to the "destroy-it" phase. What kind of knob are you intending to fit?
