SRS warning light on 740[ALL/1998] posted by Gary Williams on

The dash light on my 1990 740 wagon comes on indicating "SRS". Does this light come on for routine mainteance or does it come on when there is a real problem with the system. If it comes on for routine mainteance, how do you turn it off?

Dear Mr Williams
Your SRS system has a problem.Make NO ATTEMPT to repair this system at all!!!
This light can be activated by several means. It could as simple as your chrging system has too high or too low voltage.
This system requires special knowledge for diagnosing and should not be handled by curious people. This system can not only be very helpful in frontal or offset frontal crashes but it can be very dangerous if certain components are mishandled.Have a properly trained service professional do the looking.

P.S. If your car was in a flood I would suggest you have it TOWED to the dealer.
At which time inform them of your situation.IE the car was flooded.
