Hello all.
Had my 7th annual Lonely Hearts Thanksgiving (no relatives more booze) and...well my hangover is just starting to lift. Perogies, Cabbage Rolls (wild rice), and a Cajun doused Turkey...oh yeah and Sweet Potatoe Pie (a new feature).
As part of my recovery process I have finally finished up my work on The BrickBoard Classifieds. This is a space for you all to buy, sell, trade and such. The script is Database-style and very flexible so your ideas for improvement are welcome. Actually I already can see I need to make a find-all feature (use it and see). Also, I forgot a model in the pop-up lists I am certain so let me know. What's that new model? C70? Lemme know.

p.s.
I have been reluctant to be this blunt about this, but I need some support from users. The move to BrickBoard.com has cost me over $300.00 (and many hours). The t-shirts have cost me another $100 to have made (screening process and a handful of shirts). So in a PBS pledge drive kind of way, I need you to help me meet the goal of $400. I will have to sell 50 t-shirts to get to this point. There have been about 8 inquiries but not one person has actually sent me an order in the mail. I enjoy providing this forum but I cannot afford any added expenses in my life at this point. So, please help to keep this service alive if you can. I do not intend to profit from this site but I would like to break even at the very least.

The classifieds have gone International. Thanks to Dave Stevens and the Lonely Planet web site I have made the entry form more suited to our International visitation. If I have forgotten your currency, let me know.
I realize that the classifieds are spartan as they are. I am working on a way to quickly view most recent postings (and the "last 30 days" search does not work...these scripts can be sloppy and I have had to fix them up before).
Actually, I will try to get something like the above done by tonight (though I will certainly burn out by the end of the day considering I have a client to work with tonight who has put his product line online...ugh). They are unuseable until some sort of feature like this is made available. Actually, you may post very easily but it is hard to search unless you are very very intuitive and know exactly what you want and what is in there.
Don't give up on this feature. I am certain it will prove to be very powerful in it's organization abilities and in its ability to contain very large quatities of posts. It is not as user friendly as the board script, but don't be spoiled by all that. I think this is the right way to do this sort of thing. Others have simply converted Guest Book scripts. This is sloppy if you ask me though it may be simple to use.
Use it to sell those things that you have been sitting on for too long and probably won't use. Use it to sell your car or buy one.

Classifieds are getting better. I have changed the categories to include ForSale and Wanted in the same database. NOW you can simply click the Perfrom Search button and get those ads posted within the last 30 days (the defult).
I really have to work on the display next (display of search results that is). I have worked on this today and should be able to do it very attractively. The original script is really spartan but that's okay since I actually want to learn even more about Perl programming.
Oh yeah, sorry about the two who have (had) registered accounts. I accidently erased the "users" database. Just re-register. Oops.
