Tell me about my "new" 1989 240DL Sedan[ALL/1998] posted by Richard E Katilavas on

.Just bought a used 1989 240DL Sedan with 157,000 miles:how to keep it up!
..The car needs to have front and rear shocks, and I am wondering about the pros and cons of going with aftermarket rear shocks and front struts/shocks along with anti-sway/anti-roll bars. Has anyone had experience with aftermarket products versus Volvo parts? If so, what are the names of aftermarket players and where would I get them? Does the Volvo steering have a steering damper
that could/should be replaced?
...Also what about the new Armor-all finish protectant product versus carnuba wax and some teflon-based products that I have used in the past on boats and airplanes? I used the teflon-based wax product that I had left on a car before one winter, and it seemed to do very well compared to carnuba wax.
....Tires, please tell me about tires. In the past I have considered Michelin and Michelin snow tires, they used to be steel belted radials, as a very good buy, but now I find Michelin tires discounted at Sam's Club.

Any and all comments and suggestions welcome.

Congratulations! On my '80 DL, I put Boge shocks front and rear. They are the gas filled ones, Turbo-gas, I think. These are quite firm, which I like. I also put heavier springs on the rear. My '80 GT has larger sway bars, and it leans much less in the corners.

People have recommended Michelin tires, as they stay in balance, and, I've found they last quite well.
