245 brakes[ALL/1998] posted by alan gondry on

My pedal goes to the floor. At first it was slow, now it is more rapid. Brakes will not hold. No fluid loss. I assume this is the master cylender.
Do I need to remove the brake failure switch when bleeding? The cap/switch is hard to remove, cost seems prohibited, $80, dealer for hole unit.
please advise.

Alan,
Sounds like its time for a new master cylinder. I have installed after market units from Advance auto in three of our 240s and have had no failures -plus
they are warranted for life. A master cyl is pretty basic and rebuilt units should be as good as new OEM. I found the bleeding a little tricky. When you bleed the fronts, I needed to bleed all three nipples at the same time. I don't think we had to remove any electrical switches.
Good luck

Are you sure it's your server? Check your server connection & Disable "Disconnect a call if idle for more than -x- minutes". You get there through "Internet Connection". Add time or disconnect this feature. IF it's a server, change it!
