Does anyone know an aftermarket where I can buy high quality molded plastic floor mats for a 740?

You are wise to avoid Volvo's own trays for the 740. I bought them. They were expensive and don't fit very well, such that the water eventually spills into the carpet. Volvo's trays for 240s are excellent.
I notice that IPD sell some, but have no experience with these.

I have ipd ones on my '89 760. 740 should be same. They 're OK but a littler bit flimsy. The best ones are Made in Finland, they sell them in Sweden.

I think they're called "LOKA" or LOKARI". The same company makes those plastic inner fenders for many cars, OEM and after market. I got mine some 10 years ago from Swedish Volvo dealer. I don't have any current contacts.

I've had IPD mats for 4 years in my '89 745t and like the fact that they aren't board stiff because the flex allows for removal and cleaning without spilling any dirt in the car.
Plus, IPD has them in stock and are easily found and contacted. Good luck.
