Has anyone tried 2" SU carby on a big bore B20 (2130cc). Have webbers but dont want to go away from stock look for competition (best not to draw attention unless necessary). Car runs hard but cannot flow enough to take full advantage of engine specs. Any ideas welcome.

YES- and they do work. Try to find a pair of MGB competition SUs. Huffaker & other MGB shops may have them. They flow 200+ HP. Not cheap, though. Be ready to pay up to $ 4-500/pair. Cheaper 2" SUs are Rover, Rolls Royce and Triumph TR8. See you at Road America, Wisconsin?

I thought that standard SU's I think 1 3/4? can have a different needle put in and they will work as well. I can't remember where I read this but I have a 1968 1800S and I have been wanting to go for the "Big Daddy" Bore to 2.13 liters. There is a guy in Sandwich MA, who is a good source for older parts he specializes in 1800's but he has alot of engine/transmission stuff as well, you might look into him. He sells rebuilt SU's for something like $275, he would probably not be adverse to lending a hand. He can be reached at 508-888-9715. I am not in any way affiliated with him. I just have found him a reliable source for parts, advice and my 68 1800 (I bought it from him). Tell him I referred you.

Thanks for the advice guys. Only problem I have is that I am in Perth, Western Australia. Far from the ice and snow. I have a pair of 2" SU HS8 model on offer here for US$100. Looks like I will give them a try. I have two of these 2130cc engines, one in each 122S I have (one race, one road). If they work they will be a good modification.
