122 Heart Transplant![ALL/1998] posted by Cat on

Hi all,

I'm in need of a little advice...
My '63 122 is stuck in San Carlos with a broken b18 engine
I would like to replace with a rebuilt b20. How much does
a rebuilt b20 cost and does anyone know where I could get
one in this area? Maybe a reference of a good shadetree
mechanic in this neck of the woods as well!

thanx much
cat

Call Carl Jardewall/Nordic Motors, 415-595 0170. He's an honest guy. Carl may be overqualified & too expensive but give him a call. Carl just got back from Washington rally. He won OVERALL with 740 Turbo ! Built out of a Diesel. He's an ex. Saab fanatic ( hey - we all have our faults...) but I was able to convert him to Volvos. It took " only" 10 years, but was worth it...I feel like Billy Graham !

I priced the cost of a long block from several sources in the southern California area. B18/B20s can be gotten for $1400 exchange. Several places I called balked at that price, but there are good engines available if you look for them. You really shouldn't have to look too hard either. There are a surprising number of old Volvo engines out there.
