240DL - Big Tach & small extra gauges[ALL/1998] posted by Norm lizotte on

Anyone have a big tach to replace the clock on my 240DL instrument panel? Then I'm looking for one of the small clocks, and a oil pressure gauge, for installation in the "blanks" to the left of the radio.
Any info or suggestions are very appreciated.

I just finished doing what you want to do with the tach and oil pressure guages on a 1987 240dl. I got the parts used from a specialty volvo shop here in Austin,TX called Vol-tech Industries. I paid 40 for the tach and 10 for the voltmeter and 20 for the oil pressure( which requires a sender.) There are a few different setups for the tach. the wiring is already there so its only a matter of pulling the inst. cluster and putting it in. I wired the voltmter to one of the open fuse connectors. (a cold one when the car is off) and to the inst. panel lights so it lights up when your heads are on. The oil pressure requires some work and if you really cant do it e-mail me. If you have your radio below you can install a triple cluster above the vents. Call Andy at Austin Vol-tech for the parts. He has a web page. Good Luck , Nim and his volvo 'Isella'
