Hey, I've got this guy in Sweden, Stefan, who owes me for some web work and wants to pay me with a "chip for an 850/V70/V90 but I drive a 240DL! (Aww Phooey) So if anyone wants/needs one and wants to buy/swap for stuff that'll fit my Brick, let me know!

What the heck is a "chip"? And for what? I have a bunch of miscellaneous 240 stuff, but don't know whether it equals a "chip"! I drive a 960 so I even wonder whether this "chip" is applicable to my '92. -shatz

The 850, V70, V90 (940/960) models used an Engine Managemnt system ECU that operated using an EPROM Chip programmed with all the info from Volvo. Similar to what Detroit did with their cars.
This firm,BSR Sportsman, offers an EPROM Chip similar to the one offered by ipd for the 850 Motronic upgrade. BSR claims that they can increase horsepower, 0-60 times, etc. Basicly they reprogram their EPROM to maximize the performance curve of the engine.
The 240 engines did not use such a system and since I drive a 240 it will do me no good so I thought someone else could possibly use it. That's all.
If you are interested email me privately and I'll give you their website address and you can check the specs yourself. I believe the chip is only applicable to the 5 banger and new 6 banger models.

Where can I get some info (address, tel. no., e-mail address) regarding BSR Sportman on their EPROM chip?

Hey! I'm interested. I have a 1996 850 normally aspirated. Go ahead and write to me directly at orson_wang@kh.com (I hope I don't get spammed for this) if you're still looking to get rid of it.
